A1 Air Conditioning & Heating: Referral Program — Terms & Conditions
Effective June 2026 – Thank you for participating in A1’s referral program. By submitting a referral, you agree to the following terms.
- Eligibility
- Referrer must be 18+, a Canadian resident, and a current or past A1 customer (or resident in A1’s service area).
- A1 employees, contractors, sub-contractors, and their immediate household members are not eligible.
- The referred party must be a new A1 customer with no open quote, account, or job in progress at the time of referral, and the service address must be within A1’s service territory.
- Self-referrals and referrals between members of the same household or commonly-owned businesses do not qualify.
- How a Referral Qualifies
- Referrals must be submitted via the official QR code/form, OR the referred customer must name the referrer when booking. Late referrals (after booking or job completion) will not be honoured.
- Only one referrer per referred customer; A1’s records are final in any dispute.
- The referred job must be paid in full and not cancelled, refunded, or charged back. Reward tier is based on actual work invoiced, not quoted.
- Reward Amounts & Payment
- Tiers: $250 full HVAC system install; $100 furnace, heat pump, or AC install; $50 water heater and/or IAQ product install; $25 service call and/or SuperCare Protection Plan.
- Only the highest applicable tier is paid per referred job; rewards do not stack across categories on the same invoice.
- Rewards are paid by mailed cheque to the address on file, typically within 30–45 days of job completion and full payment. Cheques are payable to the named referrer only and cannot be transferred. Uncashed cheques expire after 6 months.
- Tax
- Referral rewards may be taxable income. A1 will issue a T4A slip if total payments to one individual reach or exceed $500 in a calendar year. A SIN may be required before issuing rewards that trigger T4A reporting. The referrer is responsible for reporting and paying any tax owing.
- Stacking, Cancellations & Privacy
- Rewards cannot be combined with employee/trade pricing, warranty or callback work, or rebate-program installs where stacking is prohibited.
- If a referred job is later cancelled, refunded, or charged back, A1 may deduct the reward from a future payment or invoice the referrer for the amount.
- By submitting a referral, you confirm you have your neighbour’s permission to share their contact information with A1. A1 will use it only to follow up about the requested service, in accordance with PIPEDA and CASL.
- Program Changes & General
- A1 may modify, suspend, or terminate the program at any time without notice. Referrals submitted before a change takes effect will be honoured under the prior rules.
- A1 may disqualify any referral obtained through fraud, misrepresentation, spam, or violation of these terms. A1’s decisions on all referral matters are final.
- Program governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario. Void where prohibited.
