Fresh Air Ventilation

Energy Recovery Ventilators

An Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) can be a smart, cost-effective solution to help dehumidify the air in your home. Since too much humidity can create a favourable environment for mould, this may be a very real concern for you if you have asthma sufferers in your home.

By bringing fresh air in, an ERV can also greatly improve indoor air quality when the air suddenly becomes undesirable or contaminated from sources such as cooking vapours, bad odours or smoke

Better moisture control

An ERV can give you more control over moisture levels in your home during warm and humid weather by keeping excess moisture out of your home. Because less energy is required to lower the temperature of dry air compared to moist air, an ERV can reduce the work your air conditioner needs to do and save you money.

“All of our customers are spending more time indoors these days and focusing more on activities inside their home. The quality of air inside your home matters. At A1, we want the air inside your home to be as fresh as the air outside.

Homes are built tighter these days. Most home heating and cooling systems do not mechanically bring fresh air into the house. The introduction of outdoor air is an important factor in promoting good air quality. Sounds good, right?

Energy recovery ventilators are one efficient solution to consider. ERVs draw clean, fresh air into a home or office and remove stale air. They also offer a way to mitigate the cost of cooling and heating during the summer and winter. Our Solutions Specialists are happy to explain lots of other options for you!”

An ERV dehumidifies and freshens your living space

An ERV works during the heat and the cold.

  • In warm weather, the ERV removes humidity and moisture from the fresh air entering your house. Due to the way the energy recovery core inside the ventilator works, the air coming inside your house becomes cooled as that air passes through the ventilator.
  • ERV’s can help to lighten the work of your AC unit which saves money over time
  • In the winter, an ERV allows the warm air leaving your house to warm the outside air that’s coming in.
  • In the summer, the cooler air leaving your house will lower the temperature of the air coming in. Less stress on your core HVAC system.
  • All year long, you can enjoy a fresher stream of air coming into your house for a healthier living environment

A1 has a selection of both ERVs (Energy Recovery Ventilators) and HRVs (Heat Recovery Ventilators). We can help you find the right solution for your home.

Why would I need a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV)?

An HRV is used to exchange stale air from inside your home with the air from outside;, which is much fresher. It provides your house with ventilation and controls wintertime condensation that can damage windows, insulation and furniture.

Using an HRV system is equivalent to having your windows open without actually having them open.

Not only does an HRV bring in fresh air, but it will also get rid of many of the pollutants in your home like excess moisture and moulds, household chemicals and certain types of airborne bacteria

The way an HRV works is through heat transfer.

  • The exhaust and the air from outside pass through the ventilator, and the heat from the exhaust air is used to pre-heat the outdoor air.
  • Only the heat is transferred, as the two air streams internally do not mix and are separate streams.
  • An HRV is able to save 70-80 per cent of the heat from the exhaust air. This proves to be an effective technique to reduce energy consumption.

Vanee AI Series HRV

  • Uses VIRTUO, the first artificial intelligence technology designed exclusively for ventilation systems. It offers optimal energy efficiency and superior air quality in all weather conditions, all year round
  • Ensures your comfort in your home by constantly self-adjusting to changing indoor and outdoor conditions
  • When it detects a change, it automatically adjusts the operation mode of the unit to deliver the proper amount of fresh air with minimal energy consumption
  • Surpasses any other on the market with their standard-issue high-grade MERV 8 filters, which capture lint, dust, pollen, dust mites, debris and spores for superior air quality and comfort
